Just finished reading Crossing Borders on my kindle – it was my first official purchase and I couldn’t have read anything better for the maiden voyage. I absolutely loved it: you totally owned me for the time it took to read (in one go I might add). Tristan and Michael together were just perfect – not in a twee way, just they fit together really well.

I loved Thanksgiving with their families – reminded me of spending time with my family tbh. And the sex scenes were incredibly arousing. Off to buy another one of your books for my kindle – just wanted to say well done.

One of my favorites. Especially the playful beginning. I have read it several times now. I want to thank you for making the sex have a deeper meaning to it… exploration, trust, communication. Don’t get me wrong… It was hot too This book definitely met the ultimate test… I didn’t want to leave the story or the characters.

Thanks Marilyn! Yes, I thought it would be fun to do a Christmas follow-up with them. It’s not going to be a full length novel but a nice little taste of the characters and their charges at Apple house along with some holiday “feel good.”

Hi I just got done reading CB and really liked it. It was the first M/M story I have ever read. I also would like to read a sequel to this story and am glad to hear that you have another story coming out in December. It would be nice to have a story about them every once in a while as I would like to read more about their life together.

Actually, I have plans for a Crossing Borders Christmas story this year, and if all goes well that should be coming from Loose Id in December. It’s going to be a shorter follow up novella, checking in with Tristan and Michael and the kids at Apple House, thanks for asking!

Hi, I am actually in the middle of reading Crossing Borders for the second time. I LOVE this story. I was wondering if you were considering a sequal or maybe just a book written in the same “universe.” I would love to read Randy’s or Devon’s story. THANKS again for a spectacular read.

You’re welcome. The NAMBLA thing doesn’t seem to fit, not really, with your story, so you’re right. It’s just that as readers we aren’t used to seeing May/December-ish narratives between two guys that doesn’t smack of the whole forbidden man/boy-love thing, you know. I guess that’s where I was going with my previous comments. After reading Crossing Borders, though, I realized that I was off-base with my original thinking. By the way, you write so wonderfully — with strong plots, characters, pacing, dialogue, sensibility, taste, etc., — that I was wondering if you’ve given any thought to penning an M/M interracial romance between a black guy and a white guy? There’s very little of these stories out there and what I’ve read I haven’t been impressed by. Seems like you’d be able to do more than justice to such a narrative. I’m a black guy and I’ve been a bit hungry for more entertaining and credible interracial gay love stories. Just a thought. Take care and thanks for responding and for writing such a good book. I’m looking forward to reading Jacob’s Ladder soon (downloading it, since it doesn’t seem to be available in print at the moment). –Mark

Wow! Thanks so much for your kind words. Yeah… NAMBLA… NO. just… no. I was so surprised when reviewers called that a May/December relationship, since one character was nineteen and the other was around twenty-six. That seems to me, at my advanced age to be May/late June. Really, I just wanted to write a story about guys who find the right fit just out the gate and are smart enough to grab on to one another and be grateful and are prepared to McGyver the rest…

Just finished this book this morning. I gotta admit, I circled around it for months after seeing it in the bookstore. I thought the cover was a little troubling: young boy (?)/ older man. Wasn’t sure I was really interested in reading a NAMBLA novel, you know. But then a few days ago I was really hungry for an M/M novel and thought, what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. A few days later (I coulda finished the book sooner but I wanted to savor the story and the characters — love Michael Truax; love Tristian too, but Michael is the best) I came down the home stretch and I was totally, absolutely, irrevocably hooked to these guys. Thank you, ZA for such a great read. And for the epilogue of 4 years later. I needed to see these guys into the future and you provided that for me. Oh, and the sex, mixed with the romance, was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The zipper in my pants rose and fell continuously throughout reading this book. And my heart rose and fell and rose as well. What a terrific novel! Thank you again! -Mark
